The world has changed forever

Over the past year the foundations of the world monetary system have been rocked to the core. This has resulted in an uncomfortable position for all of us and a devastating situation for many people.

I keep hearing people saying "When things return to normal....". Unfortunately I don't think it ever will return to 'normal' (whatever that means) because certain fundamental things have changed. Large and old institutions have collapsed and people are angry about the way the financial system has been controlled for the benefit of the few.

The good news is that whenever something this catastrophic happens it usually signals the dawn of a period of innovation and growth. Just look at what happened to technology after the Great Depression.

This means that the people who are preparing now will be the ones who can take best advantage of the upsurge when it happens. It is no co-incidence that these are usually the ones who find the best ways to ride out the difficult times.

How do they do it?

It is an attitude of mind. They have chosen to think about how they want things to be rather than dwelling on what they've lost. This proactive attitude opens their minds and helps them to sieze opportunities when they arise.

So instead of waiting for things to return to 'normal' think about what you can do to make your future happen the way you want. When things seem bleak think creatively about small changes you can make to what you are doing so you move gradually towards your goal.
